Let’s make it
- Step 1
Combine the warm water, sugar, yeast, and salt in a jug, mixing well to ensure the yeast is distributed. Allow the mixture to rest for 3–4 minutes to activate the yeast.
- Step 2
Pour the flour in a bowl or a salad bowl, then stir in the yeast mixture. Mix, then knead well until you get a smooth dough that doesn't stick to your hands. If the dough is too sticky after a few minutes of kneading, try kneading in a little more flour.
- Step 3
Add the olive oil, and knead again until smooth.
- Step 4
Cover the dough with a damp cloth, and let the dough rest for around 20 min.
- Step 5
Briefly knead again, then roll the dough out with a rolling pin until thin. Transfer to a baking sheet.
- Step 6
Spread the tomato sauce over the dough, then top with the ham slices, arranging them closely together.
- Step 7
Scatter the mozzarella then the Emmental cheese over the ham.
- Step 8
Bake at 180°C (356°F) for 15 minutes.
